This coming weekend sees the return of Sweden’s biggest LAN festival, Glitched. However, it is also an election year in Sweden, which is why Glitched is hosting a debate at 13:00 on Sunday 14 June.
Glitched has invited the youth wings of all the parties represented in the Riksdag.
The debate will focus on topics relevant to the Glitched audience and related to gaming, digital culture and esports. The debate is divided into four themes covering gaming and safety, gaming culture, gaming and learning, and gaming and esports as an industry.
The debate takes place on our Panel Stage, in the middle of the Expo at 13:00 on Sunday. Come and listen to what the candidates have to say on these issues.
Joy Friend, Ung Vänster
Minda Ranerås, MP/Grön Ungdom
Eric Strömberg, SSU
Adam Lindström, Ungsvenskarna
Anton Holmlund, LUF
Max Dahlgren, KDU
Simon Wallin, MUF
Gustav Sandberg, CUF
The debate is led by moderator Björn Flintberg, a researcher at the state research institute RISE, where he leads and coordinates work on the computer games industry. He is one of the founders of the Swedish Game Research Council, participates in the establishment of GDRC, Sweden's first research centre for computer game development, works at EU level within EIT Culture & Creativity and is a doctoral student in the game industry's ecosystem at Luleå University of Technology.
He is also the author of the PowerUP report, which compiles input to the Swedish Parliament from over 70 stakeholders in the Swedish gaming ecosystem, and one of the most sought-after speakers at a national level to discuss industry development, ecosystems, and innovation related to gaming. In his private life, he plays games often and with pleasure, mostly city builders and strategy genre games, but enjoys a bit of TD when he wants to relax.
