In just three weeks’ time, the doors will open for Glitched 2026. It is already clear that this year’s event will be bigger and more ambitious than last year’s. For the first time in many years, LAN culture is showing signs of growth, whilst the entire event is expanding to include new halls, outdoor areas and a record number of high-profile guests in attendance. A total of at least 20,000 visitors are expected.
Glitched 2026 is taking a giant leap forward and stepping up its game in every area to meet the huge interest from both the gaming community and day visitors. Among this year’s biggest new features are a brand-new dedicated esports arena and an extensive outdoor festival square.
”We’re seeing incredible demand this year. Glitched has proven that LAN culture is strong and growing – something we haven’t seen at Swedish LAN events for years! At the same time, we’re tripling the number of stages and creating entirely new outdoor experiences. This shows that Glitched has struck the right chord both within the gaming community and among the general public.”, says Martin Öjes, one of the founders of Glitched.
Strategic expansions and highlights for Glitched 2026
- LAN and Esport are growing For the first time in many years, LAN culture is showing growth. Among other things, the brand new Esports Hall is being added, which, with two completely new LAN areas and dedicated spaces for pure esports, expands the LAN by almost 900 seats.
- Brand new outdoor area The festival is expanding beyond its walls with a large campsite, activity area, shows, and a lively festival square.
- Focus on pop culture and TCGs: A major investment is being made in the collectible card hobby TCG (Trading Card Games) such as Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering. Furthermore, the festival's Artist Alley will be three times larger than before.
- More profiles and activities The number of creators and profiles on-site will triple to a total of over 300. The programme will be maximised with twice as many stage activities.
- More for day visitors: The exhibition and activation area has doubled in size, and the festival also offers twice as much Free2Play space for day visitors who want to try the latest in gaming.
With three weeks to go until the event kicks off, preparations are in full swing to welcome players, creators and visitors to the biggest Glitched ever.
